Stillness, silence, and insight

For a moment, I thought I might have passed to the afterlife, but no, just good friends taking kittens. You don’t need anything else to entertain you when you have 3 kittens climbing all over you! Also, being uncomfortably on the cold floor is completely fine when the kitten decides to fall asleep on you.
Good evening everyone,
Can’t believe another month has passed, almost 2, since the last newsletter. Like all the other old people, I feel like time goes by way too fast. A few things have happened, I got my first lot of assignments done for the coaching, well done me! It’s time to move on to practical training next, exciting and scary. I appreciate the trust in my skills, as all the practice client slots are already taken. I might need one more at some point, so if you are interested, let me know. Another interesting event was Wanaka Health Expo. It was so great to meet local practitioners and see who’s out there. I have already booked and experienced some new modalities for myself, and will most likely attend an Ortho Bionomy course in July. The wellbeing scene is just too interesting to miss out when these opportunities arise.
A few things have also been on my mind because of this forever-changing industry of Health and Wellbeing. What are we willing to do and change to feel better? What’s the main motivator? And what are we willing to pay to get professional help? I have always been interested in different treatments and what I can do to feel better. Best possible wellbeing is my forever goal. Things change, and it makes me seek help or new information, and I’ll adjust my routine accordingly. Feeling drives me way more than looks, as that’s what I need to deal with 24/7, looks are only for a fraction of time when I happen to look into the mirror. When it comes to cost, if I think something will help me, I’m happy to spend money on it. It’s a bit like the old saying, If you don’t make time for health, you will be forced to make time for sickness. Treating sickness always takes more time and definitely will be more expensive, so the preventive route is always a smarter choice. It doesn’t mean you need to be 100% perfect all the time; it’s not possible, and it kills the fun in life. But to be healthy in this artificial world we live in does require sacrifice and smart choices. I might have used the term “fun tax” before. You do something silly or unhealthy, your body will make you pay, so don’t try to hide from this taxman either; they always find you! Also, keep in mind that a lot of things that improve your health and wellbeing are also fun; you just need to find your specific health tricks and hobbies. Take some time to think about what your wellbeing goals are? How could you achieve them? And what are you willing to pay? I love this topic, so feel free to message me if you’d like to share. Wellbeing will be my main focus in future coaching as well, so happy to hear what you guys are struggling with or would need more support with.
Personally, I have been quite surprised (read: shocked) by how much money goes into beauty. My other birthday treat for myself was a facial package, which I’m really enjoying and don’t want to down-talk, as it is a feel-good service. But it has opened a whole other world for me, what’s happening out there. There are all sort of expensive products, body sculpting services, and injectables that costs thousands of dollars. Everybody’s body is their own, and each individual makes the choices for themselves. I 100% respect that. What makes me sad about the beauty industry is the fact that a lot of the changes in the body would be achievable with lifestyle and diet changes. Strength and mobility give the body the shape and, more importantly, the capability to do things. We should also appreciate aging; it’s part of life, and it makes our individual features and characteristics even stronger, which is part of our personality. I suppose what I try to say here is we really should shift the focus inwards and to the capability to function.
As usual, I ended up ranting a lot more than I meant to! But I do hope it awakens new perspectives or makes you appreciate your body. Our bodies are always trying to help us; we just need to learn to listen. On that note, I would like to end this newsletter as a big thank you to all of you for putting trust in me to treat you. Letting someone treat you always makes you vulnerable, and that should always be based on mutual trust and respect. I want you to know that as a practitioner, I’m always open to feedback, and you can also tell me to shut up if you are not in the mood to listen to my incredibly smart views of life, haha. Also working with the body and energy, we all respond differently, so only share what you feel like you need to or want to with me. We are all the best healers of ourselves; sometimes, we just need a little push in the right direction.
Winter is 10 days away. Make some room for stillness and silence, and you just might find some new insight. I’ll be doing this in a hardcore way starting next week, so when you next hear from me, I will be enlightened or even more insane; time will tell.
Stay warm🔥
Love

Thought I’d give you a glimpse of how I look when doing admin and treating my facial tension.
1. Cat cuddles, they treat any tension.
2. Taping to help me not squint my eyes, for tension relief, and for wrinkles, if you wish!
3. Similar tension taping, while also giving my jaw muscles a cheeky little massage, so I can’t clench. Yes, I have my thumb in my mouth, so I can fully attack the tension!
Not to mention, to look fabulous with my new headband!
